Workshops & Demonstrations - Washtenaw County: Nichols Arboretum Site Bank Seeding
Seed from a variety of native grass and forb species was collected from locations in the Arboretum to use in seeding the banks of the demonstration site. Seed was separated by species height, with a shorter species mix prepared for the upper portion of the river bank, and a taller species mix for the lower portion. This was done to allow for unimpeded views of the river from the top of the bank, while still providing soil stabilization and erosion control.
